The foundation of PAC was laid in 1972 with the idea to establish an indigenous facility for overhauling F-6 aircraft of the PAF. Starting on a small scale as Project 721, the efforts gradually shaped into a full-fledged Aircraft Rebuild Factory of today. Ever since, ARF has provided MRO (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul) facility for various types of Chinese aircraft. In the last four decades, the factory overhauled over 1000 aircraft, alongside undertaking several manufacturing and repair tasks. It goes to the credit of ARF that almost 70% of the PAF fleet, comprising Chinese-built aircraft, has always been kept in the highest state of preparedness.
